In the summer of 2000, Robert graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 (Hons) Degree in Business Information Technology. The degree was a 4 year sandwich course which consisted of a third year on placement within industry. This third year of placement was performed at British Steel in Llanwern. Here he learnt the various processes of collecting, analysing and distributing data as information to site managers. The tools that he used included mainframe applications such as SAS and PC based development applications such as Focus and Visual Basic.
Immediately after university he began work at David Stock & Co. Ltd. as their IT Specialist. Robert is in charge of all IT aspects of the company ranging from development of the present Networks in the Newport and Magor offices to the design and development of this Web site. He has also designed Appointment, Client Policy, Message Book and Telephone Databases for use within the two offices of Newport and Magor.
He consistently maintains the performance of the networks and offers support to those individuals that need a guiding hand. He has helped to radically change the way the company performs in line with present technological advances, such as e-commerce, in order to ensure David Stock & Co. Limited remain at the cutting edge of modern technology.
Robert is now self-employed after starting up his own business, Stock IT Solutions in 2003.
